It has been reported that Pirates have cracked Windows 7's product activation. The system made RTM just a week ago, and is slated to reach users in another week, Microsoft confirmed today.
The product key posted all over the Web reportedly comes from Lenovo, one of Microsoft's major OEM partners. It allows users to activate downloaded copies of Windows 7 Ultimate RTM (release to manufacturing), which leaked on the internet last week, only hours after Microsoft Corporation announced that it had finished the operating system.
Windows 7 is slated for release to the public on Oct. 22, but subscribers to TechNet and MSDN services will be able to download the final code, along with legitimate product activation keys, this coming Thursday. Courtesy of computerworld.com
